sony psp instruction manualThe Playstation Portable (officially abbreviated PSP is a handheld game console manufactured and marketed by Sony Computer Entertainment. Development of the console was announced during E3 2003, and it was unveiled on May 11, 2004 at a Sony press conference before E3 2004. The system was released in Japan on December 12, 2004, in North America on March 24, 2005, and in the PAL region on September 1, 2005. The PlayStation Portable is the first handheld video game console to use an optical disc format, Universal Media Disc (UMD), as its primary storage medium. Other distinguishing features of the console include its large viewing screen, robust multi-media capabilities,and connectivity with the PlayStation 3, other PSPs, and the Internet. Sales of the PSP have (with cyclical exceptions) lagged behind its main competitor, the Nintendo DS.Nevertheless, the console is “the most successful non-Nintendo handheld game system ever sold”.After the release of a remodeled, slimmer, and lighter version of the PlayStation Portable, appropriately titled Slim & Lite, in early September 2007, sales quadrupled in the United Kingdom the following week and increased by nearly 200% in North America for the month of October. The Slim & Lite had a minor redesign including a new screen and inbuilt microphone, and has since been followed by the PSP Go

This manual is divided into some sections as the following : precautions and battery pack precautions, the preparation including checking the package contents, the definitions of part names and functions, preparing the PSP system for use, and connecting the headphones with remote control. Next part is the basic operation, it covers turning the PSP system on and off, putting into sleep mode, inserting a UMD, inserting a memory stick duo, avoiding unintended operation of the PSP system, using the sound button, using the display button, and the battery. Next part discuss about the game : how to play a game, game options menu, copying and deleting saved data. Video (watching a video, using the control panel, operating the PSP system buttons or the remote control, video options menu, saving videos on a Memory Stick Duo). Music (listening to music, using the control panel, operating the PSP system button or the remote control, music options menu, transferring and saving music on a Memory Stick Duo). Photo (viewing images, using the control panel, operating the PSP system buttons or the remote control, photo options menu, playing slideshows, saving images on a Memory Stick Duo). The next section is the setting including settings for the PSP system, video settings, photo settings, system settings, date & time settings, power save settings, sound settings, security settings, USB connection, network settings, network update, and how to use the keyboard. The last section is the additional information, including compatible media, specifications, troubleshooting, and LIMITED WARRANTY.
