Volkswagen Passat was built by Volkswagen through six design generation since 1973. It is a type of Volkswagen family car. The Passat falling between VW Golf and Phaeton in the current Volkswagen line-up, it has also been badged variously as Dasher, Santana, Quantum, Magotan,Corsar, and Carat.The name Passat derives from the German word for tradewind. More recently, Volkswagen has extended its range with the launch of the Passat CC, a 4-door Passat coupe version.
