The Honda S2000 is a roadster manufactured by the Honda Motor Company and was created to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary on April 1999. The S2000 was launched in world markets in 1999. Before, it was a concept car at Tokyo Motor show in 1995. It gets the name from its engine displacement of 2 L, carrying on in the tradition of the S500, S600, and S800 roadsters of the 1960s. Throughout the car’s lifetime, several revisions were made, including changes to the gearbox, engine, interior, exterior, and suspension. Officially two models exist : the initial model launch, the AP1, and the other is AP2, which was given to the models produced from 2004 onwards which contained substantial changes to the suspension and drivetrain. Production of the S2000 will cease in June 2009.
